Stangl Della-Ware Plate Festival Pattern
Stangl Della-Ware Plate Festival Pattern
Stangl Della-Ware Plate Festival Pattern
This is an older Stangl plate.  The plate is the "Festival" pattern of the Della-Ware line which was produced between 1940-1953.  The plate measures 10" across.  Festival is a Fruit design of grapes, cherries, pears, plums and more.  This pattern makes a nice display piece for the Pennsylvania Dutch decor.  The back is marked with the decorators initials of "GC".  There is a tiny spot in the center where the glaze is worn.  The green at the edge is the Pennsylvania Dutch Green #4055 which was the only green other than French Green used in the 40's and had a tendency to run and blur.
